El Camino Hospital CEO Departing to Lead Oregon-Based Health Care Organization

Mountain View, CA, December 8, 2005 – El Camino Hospital today announced that CEO Lee Domanico is leaving the hospital to accept a position as CEO with the Portland, Oregon-based nonprofit health care organization, Legacy Health System. Domanico will continue to serve El Camino Hospital through January 8, 2006.

Domanico joined El Camino Hospital as CEO on October 30, 2000. During his tenure, the hospital significantly improved its financial position and gained voter approval for a bond measure to help finance the construction of a planned new, seismically-safe hospital building.  It has also won several prestigious national awards for quality health care and innovation.

“Based on any objective assessment, Lee Domanico has been a great CEO for El Camino Hospital," said Dr. Edward Bough, Chairman of the El Camino Hospital Board and a cardiologist at the hospital. “While we wish him the best in his future position, we will miss his vision, leadership and continuous drive for improvement."

Legacy Health System operates five hospitals as well as a hospice agency, a full-service research facility, and specialty and primary care clinics. The organization provides an integrated network of services, including acute and critical care, inpatient and outpatient treatment, community health education and a variety of specialty services.

The El Camino Hospital District Board will announce plans for the hospital’s future leadership when it is appropriate to do so.
