MILLER & HOLGUIN TO JOIN WITH STEPHAN, ORINGHER, RICHMAN & THEODORA Combined Firm Will Be Among The Top Fifty Firms In Southern California Effective January 1, 2006, Stephan, Oringher, Richman & Theodora ("SORT") will join forces with Miller & Holguin ("M&H"). The new firm will be known as Stephan, Oringher, Richman, Theodora & Miller ("SORTM"). The new firm's sixty-plus attorneys will occupy SORT's existing offices in Los Angeles County and Orange County. SORTM
will bring together the complementary practice areas of SORT and
M&H, providing the combined firm with an expanded product line and
significant depth of service. SORT, one of the area's top litigation and
trial firms, will bring its expertise and depth in a number of trial
practice areas not previously served by M&H, including anti-trust
and unfair competition, appellate practice, civil business litigation,
class actions, employment litigation, intellectual property, healthcare
litigation, product liability, real estate litigation, and white collar
criminal defense. M&H, which emphasizes corporate transactions and
creative solutions to complex business and finance issues, will add its
sophisticated securities, corporate finance and health care regulatory
practices involving both public and privately held clients. SORTM
will have a particular expertise in serving health care clients, with
SORT's significant health care litigation practice complementing
M&H's extensive health care regulatory and transactional practice. "We
are confident that the combination of these two excellent firms will
make a positive impact on our clients and on the legal community,"
stated Harvey
Oringher, the managing partner of SORTM. "We
believe that our respective clients will benefit immediately from the
additional legal talent they can now draw upon. In addition, the
combination of our firms will provide increasing value for our clients
as they continue to grow in size and complexity." "Just
as important, our respective clients will see no change in our approach
to client service," stated Dale
S. Miller, managing partner of M&H. "SORT
and M&H have historically shared similar practice philosophies which
will continue on with SORTM. As always, we will continue to emphasize
experience and responsiveness in staffing client matters. We will not be
hiring and training entry level lawyers at client expense. At the same
time, by adding considerable depth of service to our firm, we will be
able to offer a full range of corporate legal services while competing
favorably on both quality and cost with other leading regional and
national law firms." Los
