NDC Introduces New Low-Cost Version Of Pro.Net, Its Powerful PC-based Gauging System

Irwindale, Calif., January 6, 2006 - NDC Infrared Engineering (www.ndcinfrared.com) announces a cost-reduced version of Pro.Net - the first system to combine the power and flexibility of a PC-based supervisory system with stand-alone “Mission Critical" product measurement and control hardware for the ultimate in capability and reliability.

Pro.Net’s PC provides a superior interface through the use of Windows XP™ and NDC’s HMI (Human Machine Interface) software. The NDC MicroBRIC – a powerful, dedicated PLC-like industrial computer system – performs all of the product measurement, scanning and control functions. This MicroBRIC is industrially hardened to thrive in tough environments.

Unlike competitive systems, this layered approach can provide back-up support via the MicroBRIC – with application-proven hardware and software that continues to measure and control the product and provide a video interface, even if the PC fails.

The new, low cost version of Pro.Net system can manage up to two product scanners and measurement sensors, making it ideal for many extrusion, nonwovens, calendering and simple coating applications. NDC’s Flexmount™ cabinet is used to house a 17" monitor, MicroBRIC and a Dell™ PC. The Flexmount workstation can be mounted on a desk, wall or swivel pedestal, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of a particular installation. The price of the Flexmount-based Pro.Net is approximately 10 to 15% less than the standard Pro.Net system configuration. This new Flexmount Pro.Net system is available now.
