Telelogic
Teams with Carnegie Mellon to Deliver Professional Certification for
Enterprise Architects
Unique
Partnership Designed to Help Meet Growing Global Demand for Qualified
Enterprise Architects
MALMÖ,
Sweden and IRVINE, California - 23 January 2006 - Telelogic (Stockholm
Exchange: TLOG), the leading provider of software solutions that align
advanced systems and software development with business objectives,
today announced a collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University's
Institute for Software Research International ("ISRI") to
deliver a new program of training with certification in enterprise
architecture (EA). The program, developed by ISRI, consists of a series
of three courses for beginning, mid-level, and senior enterprise
architects, to be offered in cooperation between Telelogic and ISRI in
the U.S. and around the world.
The program addresses the challenges and benefits of enterprise
architecture and provides participants with a practical approach to
successfully implement and use EA within their organizations. The
courses were designed from a careful analysis of the knowledge, skills,
and abilities needed by enterprise architects working at different
levels of organizations. The courses will be taught by seasoned
professionals from Telelogic and ISRI. Each course includes a
comprehensive exit examination and leads to a certificate of completion;
there is an overall certification from Telelogic and ISRI for the
successful completion of all three courses. Program graduates will gain
an advanced understanding of EA concepts and practices and should be
able to successfully establish and lead EA teams and projects in the
public or private sector. The program is expected to launch in February
2006 and will be delivered as both a public and private offering.
John Grasso, Director of Strategic Development and Distance Learning in
ISRI at Carnegie Mellon, stated "ISRI has offered executive and
professional education and training in Enterprise Architecture to
domestic and international audiences, in the classroom, and through
eLearning. Since Telelogic also provides training around the world, we
see our collaboration as a natural outreach to deliver quality programs
worldwide."
ISRI’s EA curriculum manager, Dr, Scott Bernard, adds "Public and
private sector organizations need enterprise architects to support
business and technology development projects and globalization. The new
collaboration between ISRI and Telelogic will help to meet the need as
well as promoting global best practices for enterprise
architecture."
"We are very proud to have been selected by Carnegie Mellon’s
ISRI as the organization they wish to deliver their professional
enterprise architecture certification program," said Anders Lidbeck,
President and CEO of Telelogic "Given our experience and
recognition in the enterprise architecture industry, this is a natural
fit for our organization and emphasizes Telelogic´s leadership in
EA".
"With interest in enterprise architecture continuing to grow at a
rapid pace, it is important to have professional standards for
enterprise architecture development. Good enterprise architecture is
critical to an organization´s success, but it is often misunderstood
and executed poorly," said Robert Handler, research vice president
for Gartner Group. "A professional certification program, delivered
by both a reputable educational institution and a firm with a proven
track record, shows great promise toward advancing the field of
enterprise architecture. This program is a definite step in the right
direction, ensuring a minimum baseline level of knowledge can be
demonstrated by practitioners."
