Technology firm’s enhanced claims data analytics and personalized communications will expedite enrollment in Alere’s industry-leading disease management programs and improve compliance with evidence-based care guidelines

RENO, NEVADA – January 17, 2006 – Alere Medical Incorporated, a leading specialty disease management company, has announced that it has expanded its capabilities to identify patients and intervention opportunities through an agreement with Resolution Health, a recognized leader in healthcare data analytics and disease interventions. Resolution Health’s technology will be used to expedite claims analysis for medical, laboratory, pharmacy and other encounters to facilitate the identification and enrollment of patients into one of Alere’s industry-leading disease management programs. Alere will launch the newly expanded capabilities this month, starting with national account groups for PacifiCare Health Systems.

Under terms of the agreement, Alere also will integrate Resolution Health’s Direct-to-Member™ personalized interventions with its disease management programs for certain of PacifiCare’s National Accounts, increasing member compliance with evidence-based guidelines and PacifiCare’s drug formulary by up to 60%, according to studies of Resolution Health’s personalized member communications.
