ATEN Technology KVM Solutions Achieve Linux Certification

KeyLabs Awards ATEN KVMs Gold Seal of Approval with Linux Compatibility Mark

Irvine, CA (February 21, 2006) -- ATEN Technology, Inc., an innovator of high-quality KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) and remote connectivity solutions to manage servers and other network devices, today announced that six of its KVM solutions were recently awarded KeyLabs’ Linux Compatibility mark for compliance with the open-source platform. Specifically, ATEN’s KVM units are compatible with Novell’s SuSE v9.3 platform.

KeyLabs, the certification arm of AppLabs, built this Linux-Tested program from the ground up based on a perceived need in the industry for such testing. KeyLabs offers the only vendor-neutral Linux Compatibility testing program in the industry. This industry-first program provides hardware vendors with an unbiased ranking to demonstrate to potential customers that their products are compatible with the Linux OS and been tested for complete functionality. KeyLabs currently offers hardware testing for major distributions of Linux including RedHat, Mandrake, SuSE, OpenLinux, TurboLinux and UnitedLinux.

Linux Certified ATEN KVM Solutions
The following six KVM solutions have been tested and are now certified as Linux-compliant: CS1758, CN6000 KVM on the NET, KH0116, Matrix KM0432, KN9116 and KW1000 KVM over Wireless.

According to Sampson Yang, CEO, ATEN Technology, Inc., achieving Linux certification from KeyLabs included a series of critical checkpoints including multiple OS capability, monitor testing, switching commands, and Linux compatibility.

“We are delighted to have our enterprise-level KVM solutions achieve the Linux Compatibility Mark from KeyLabs and this certification completes our vision for support across a range of platforms," said Yang. “With our solutions now Linux-certified by KeyLabs, SuSE users can optimize our KVM technology on the open-source platform."

ATEN Technology Bolsters Data Center Security with New RADIUS-Compliant KVM on the NET™ Solution

New CN5000 Control Unit Connects to Existing KVMs for Remote Access Functionality and Secures Networks with RADIUS Server Authentication

Irvine, CA (February 15, 2006) -- ATEN Technology, Inc., an innovator of high-quality KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) and remote connectivity solutions to manage servers and other network devices, today announced a new Internet-based control device that integrates the RADIUS remote authentication protocol. RADIUS servers have evolved into a critical tool for network administrators to manage all access authorizations within enterprise IT environments. The new CN5000 KVM on the NETTM is an IP-based KVM control unit that allows IT administrators to access and manage computers, servers, and other network resources connected across a LAN, WAN, or the Internet. The unit can support up to 64 users and delivers concurrent server access to up to 16 users. The CN5000 can be connected to existing ATEN KVM units and other third-party KVM switches.

"Network security is paramount for global organizations of all sizes and is threatened daily by scores of malicious hackers intent with wreaking havoc on IT infrastructures," said Sampson Yang, CEO, ATEN Technology, Inc. “Our CN5000 offers the highest levels of security including encryption, a log server to continuously monitor server activities, IP and MAC filters, sophisticated user management and stealth mode."

With the new CN5000 KVM on the NET, data center administrators can ensure secure remote access to servers without physically being present at the rack. Organizations with multiple locations can benefit from the comprehensive remote management functionality of this device. “Not only do these organizations gain centralized control of remote servers and computers but also have the capability to manage their customers and do business remotely," added Yang.

Using ATEN’s proprietary technology, the CN5000 offers superior video quality for a KVM IP-implemented device with 1600 x 1200 at 60Hz resolution as well as boasting the most accurate mouse movement in the market. In addition, the CN5000 includes a user-friendly Windows GUI and Java client software to simplify the process of remote server management. “Video quality and mouse movement are equally as important as security, and the CN5000 offers unrivaled superiority in these categories," said Yang.
